SPLM-IO/Agwelek
Collo Chiefdoms
The Collo Kingdom is organized into sixteen chiefdoms. This structure reflects both cultural heritage and a decentralized system of governance. This system is rooted in Nyakang’s legacy. The king or queen is the spiritual custodian of the heritage of the Collo Nations, and the symbol of national unity, stability, and pride.
Chiefs play a crucial role in cultural preservation, peace maintenance, and community development. They serve as advisors to the king or queen on cultural, peace, economic, social, and political issues. This system should be enshrined in the constitution of South Sudan as a testament to the country's rich cultural heritage and identity.
